The Royal Wedding, should I stay or go?

Visa Europe said the royal wedding appeared to have led to a 104% rise in flight bookings out of the country next week, although a 244% increase in arrivals from overseas will more than compensate. People evidently don't know if they are coming or going! Maybe they will need a flat after the honeymoon?

The Most Expensive Streets in the World, #4 is...

4. Kensington Palace Gardens, London – $7,196 per square foot.
Parallel to the royal family’s Kensington Palace, this street is capped at either end by an embassy—one Russian and one Israeli—which is perfect for any security conscious billionaire. Lakshmi Mittal, a steel magnate, is apparently one such billionaire. He owns two houses in Kensington Palace Gardens, one of them being the most expensive house ever sold when he purchased it at £57 million (US $111 million) in 2004. Hey maybe he wants to sell!

Most expensive homes for sale today!

Vaulting to the top of the list is the Spelling Manor, home to Candy Spelling, the wife of the late mega-TV producer Aaron Spelling who cranked out hits such as “Charlie’s Angels,” “Dynasty,” “Starsky and Hutch,” “Beverly Hills 90210,” “Melrose Place,” “The Love Boat,” and “Fantasy Island,” to name just a few. The manor was listed last year for $150 million and it looks like Spelling has not budged on the price — it’s still $150 million. The Spellings purchased the property from the late entertainer Bing Crosby in 1984 and razed it, creating “The Manor,” which is 56,500 sq ft of living space, including 123 rooms (14 bedrooms and 27 bathrooms) on 4.7 acres in the Holmby Hills neighborhood of LA. Inside the grand entry is a double-grand staircase with a 30-foot ceiling that flows into the living room and formal dining room. Special touches include antique fireplaces imported from France, limestone and hardwood floors, billiards room, two-lane bowling alley, arcade room and service wing with staff quarters. Also notable: Spelling’s neighbor four doors away is Hugh Hefner and the Playboy Mansion. Contact the Sohar's Re/Max, soharworldhomes.com or sohar.ca. 1-800-828-0531

It's nice to know that in these hard economic times, the world's billionaires are doing alright. One billionaire in particular, Yuri Milner, recently decided to buy a new house: a sprawling $100 million California mansion - the most expensive one-family home ever sold in the U.S. The 25,500-square-foot home in Los Altos home is modeled like a French chateau on steroids. It has five bedrooms, nine bathrooms and sits on 11 acres of land. There is also a ballroom and indoor and outdoor pools.

Property prices in Malta highest in the EU

The Mediterranean island of Malta has recorded the strongest growth in property prices from countries in the European Union, and recent news could help see property inflation in double figures for the next few years.
Figures released by the European Mortgage Federation show Malta’s rise of over eighteen per cent was higher than both France and Spain.
Property insiders on the island are predicting that strong growth could be around for a few years yet, giving Malta the potential to be seen by investors as a good place to buy.

World's most bizarre homes, #18 is...

Pay attention, airlines. Here is a way to recap some of those losses. Imagine having a Boeing 727 as a home. The plane set the owner back $2,000.00, cost $4,000.00 to move, and $24,000.00 to renovate. That’s not bad for a $30,000.00 investment. The stairs open with a garage door remote, and one of the bathrooms is still intact. And let’s not forget the personal jacuzzi in the cockpit. Sweet. The Boeing home is featured as part of a collection of creative conversions.

The Rio De Janeiro Luxury Apartments And Hotels Market Is Growing

Carnival, the exciting gyrations of Samba, the spectacular tropical beaches and also the normally outgoing Brazilian way of life are not the only reasons why many would like to pay a visit to or live in Brazil, the property sector, particularly in Rio de Janeiro, Copacabana, Ipanema, Leblon, Botafogo and Barra de Tijuca is flourishing big time. Property prices for both homes and apartments inside the aforementioned city are climbing.
The Brazilian economy is growing at a very strong speed thanks to its large quantity of commodities such as oil, precious metals, coffee as well as some other emerging business markets. The Brazilian market has been energetically increasing ever since the crisis in the Untied States. Because of this, the middle class segment has been widening and those men and women are in the market and able to afford property. In the past, the interest rates had been very high and lending products were not as easy to come by but because the selic rate has been brought back to an appealing amount for borrowing money, this has added to the growth.
Banking institutions are approving home mortgages at an unprecedented rate and even though the real estate markets within nations such as the Usa and England have been in a major record level slump, the growing market of Brazil is seeing strong economic times. And because Brazil is the eighth largest economy in the world and is showing no signs of letting up, purchasing a home or apartment there is a safe and stable investment.
The market for rental property has also been an excellent reason to invest in property in South America. Their tourism has never been stronger, specifically in Rio de Janeiro and with the country all set to host the World Cup in 2014 as well as the Olympics in 2016, the national infrastructure will encounter significant upgrades and tourism will only get better. Which indicates if you’re leasing your property to business travelers or households on holiday, vacancies will probably be uncommon and you will be getting top dollar leasing rates.
You can’t disregard the statistics with regards to considering the purchase of a home or apartament in Rio de Janeiro or South America overall. In the past eight years, over 20 million Brazilians have enhanced their circumstance and have been removed out of poverty. Merge that with high demand and low supply (Brazil has about five million fewer housing units than it needs), you now have a recipe for ongoing development and expansion. In spite of brand-new high rise complexes being built at a record level, demand is still outpacing supply. The Brazilian banking institution said this current year it expects bank loan lending to leap to $42 billion in 2010, upward from $28 billion last year.
People are saying that Brazil is comparable to what the United states was in the 50′s and 60′s. At this time there is a massive quantity of growth going on and with a lot of space still available for continued development, the real estate market is generally untapped
